Get inspired for NYE!!! Sharing images from a vintage 70’s inspired photoshoot with @Goldstruck @auraavenue and @alvaro_quiala. Goldstruck dressed and styled the girls of Aura Avenue and I got to have fun with the hair and makeup. I brought the girls from a natural polished look into a more dramatic party look with just a few touch ups. Al Quiala (my Father and Photographer Extraordinaire) captured these amazing images so let’s take a look!
I kept the feel very neutral here by selecting flesh tone colors for eyes and face. No colorful shadows just defining features with light contouring techniques. For hair, I left the ends of each section out of the curling iron allowing hair to fall more airy and light. Nothing is overdone, just simple hints of effort.
Next we added a little bit of shadow and texture. Some key hints included lashes, lips and a light shimmer on the inside corner of the eye to brighten! I just teased Chelse’s curls up a little to create some volume and pinned Ivy’s locks into a faux bob/ updo.
The last look was really the most fun! The makeup was flawless adding a smokey eye and lining the under water line with a white pencil for extra pop. Lashes were added as well on top AND a few on bottom for a piecy Twiggy like wink! I used one of my tiny curling irons (1/2″ Hot Tools) and curled both of the curls 100%. I didn’t stretch out or tease too much of the curl to keep each piece defined. This style is great the night of as well as the day after and even the day after that! You can go from super curly to beach wavy as the curls fall out!
Get inspired for the nights festivities and have fun trying these looks at home! If you like what you saw the girls dressed in, you can shop their looks at Gold Struck Goods on Etsy.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
